Are you happier to be dating someone much younger than yourself?
- Do others have issues with it?
- What are the positives?
- What are the negatives?
Here are some reactions I have received & my thoughts to them
My wife is 28 & I’m 51 & we are very happy, so why do others seem to find that odd?
GT: A good question – We are all different in our tastes & preferences. For me so long as no one is breaking the law & deliberately breaking up a happy relationship then what two people have between themselves is their affair.
The positive of me having a good-looking younger girlfriend is it makes me look better.
GT: Sorry, all the wrong reasons to be dating this poor girl. You are with someone because they make you happy or you make a great like minded team – They are not a trophy to display on your arm to make you look better.
My husband is thirty years older than me & others keep asking me about the future, we are both comfortable with it.
GT: I suppose they just want to make sure you are OK with what is likely to happen the older you both get. Common sense tells us that you are more likely to be around longer than he is on this earth. You need to enjoy what you have together now but also be clear on what the future means for both of you.
So, In Summary…
Age differences in relationships will always create strong feelings – So long as the two people involved are clear of their intentions for now & the future & also that no laws are being broken – I say tell others to mind their own business & enjoy what you have together.
